Well, it had to happen eventually. A few things have gone right. After an exhausting 1 hour on the phone to a tech we managed to get our charting system up and running. I have also bought some hard charts just to cover our arses.
The latest news from the U.S. Postal service re our steering system , put it on Australian soil and in customs at 3.30am. Imagine my surprise to find it at the Post Office. I immediately took it home and have it mostly installed though I need to modify the mountings for the steering ram and route the new wiring under the boat . I just ran out of light to finish the job. Hopefully we will grab some fresh fruit tomorrow and I will finish the installation and then contact customs to clear us and we are away. Sounds easy when you say it quickly.
We did manage to purchase 100 litres of fuel and hopefully this will be enough to see us through most of the journey.
"Zenataos" previously "Wired" a John Hitch 15 metre Catamaran was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the port hull while she was at anchor at Burrum Heads. The remains, stbd hull, mast , rigging and sails were salvaged by me and towed to Maryborough and lifted on to the hard and then rebuilt over the next two years to emerge as a bridgedeck catamaran.
