"Zenataos" previously "Wired" a John Hitch 15 metre Catamaran was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the port hull while she was at anchor at Burrum Heads. The remains, stbd hull, mast , rigging and sails were salvaged by me and towed to Maryborough and lifted on to the hard and then rebuilt over the next two years to emerge as a bridgedeck catamaran.

shakedown on Moreton Bay
Back from a shakedown cruise on Moreton Bay with my new crew, Karin and Emma. Was subjected to three days of strong wind warnings. WNW at 25 to 30 knots and then it swung to the SE and backed to 20knots plus. Hid behind Peel Island for the most part and had a good sail home today with double reefed main and inner staysail. A bit conservative but good experience in putting in reefs and balancing the boat to ease the helm a bit. Have secured an electric self steering system from the States and also should have a navigation computer in the next day or so. The boat will be up to scratch soon and then we are off to Papua for a month or so. We should be able to finish off the nets over the next few days and perhaps some of the hundreds of jobs still to do before we leave. Will update with photos over the next few days.
