deck beams and more jobs

"Zen" swinging 10 metres in the air as we relaunch at Doboy Creek. Note cleaner underwingdeck clearance.
Deatail of the deck beams, plywood web, with glass and carbon fibre.

Finally finished off the nets and in the process of securing the batteries and mosquito proofing the sleeping area. Hopefully our navigation computer arrives today and we can download "c"map onto it without too much trouble. I also intend to download "c"map onto this computer as a backup. I am still trying to source charts for the Louisiades and New Britain, New Ireland to copy as a further backup should our computers fail or the g.p.s. system crashes. The above photo is of the deck beams that I fitted on the last haulout. They are plywood and carbon fibre with webbing inside.

Also is a pic of the underside of "Zen" showing the cleaner underwingdeck. I was unsuccessful in bidding for another outboard for our larger dinghy so hopefully my Honda 9.9hp 4stroke will come back from the motor repairers and we can use it. It is a bit big and heavy to handle but on the r.i.b. we can actually ski behind it. Also handy as a backup if the main motors give up for any reason.

I seem to only have photos of "Zen" either swinging 10 metres in the air or being repaired. Hopefully on this trip we will get some pics of her underway Anyway, back to work.
